Product Overview

3M Scotch-Weld DP8805NS Green 45ML is a green, low-odor, non-sag, toughened two-part acrylic structural adhesive designed for industrial applications requiring fast assembly, high-strength bonding and improved production efficiency.

According to 3M technical information, DP8805NS Green provides good shear, peel and impact performance. It can bond a wide range of plastics and metals, including some slightly oily surfaces. Its low-odor and non-flammable characteristics also make it easier to integrate into manufacturing processes.

This product has a 10:1 mix ratio. After mixing, the adhesive color is blue-green. At 23°C, it has a working life of approximately 3–5 minutes, an open time of approximately 5 minutes, reaches structural strength in about 8–10 minutes, and fully cures in approximately 24 hours.

The specification you provided is 45ML, supplied in a dual-cartridge package. DP8805NS is suitable for metalworking, sign manufacturing, bonding plastics, composites and powder-coated metals, as well as fast assembly of small parts.

Key Features

  • Low-odor two-part acrylic structural adhesive, easier to use in manufacturing environments compared with typical acrylic adhesives.
  • Non-sag formula, suitable for vertical surfaces, complex areas and localized dispensing without excessive flow.
  • Toughened formula, providing good shear strength, peel strength and impact resistance.
  • Fast structural strength build-up, reaching structural strength in approximately 8–10 minutes, helping improve assembly efficiency.
  • 10:1 mix ratio, suitable for use with 3M Duo-Pak / EPX dispensing systems for metering, mixing and dispensing.
  • Contains 0.010 inch glass beads, helping control bond line thickness.
  • Suitable for multiple substrates, including painted or coated metals, most plastics, glass and some bare metals.
  • Cure speed can be accelerated with heat. Technical information recommends curing above 16°C, with heating up to 66°C to increase cure speed.
  • 45ML dual-cartridge package, suitable for small-batch production, fast assembly, repair and production-line dispensing.

Typical Applications

3M DP8805NS Green 45ML is suitable for industrial bonding applications that require fast curing, high strength and impact resistance.

Typical applications include:

  • Metalworking, such as HVAC, appliances, sporting goods and specialty vehicle components
  • Sign manufacturing, including panel-to-frame bonding, trim attachment, letter bonding and frame assembly
  • Bonding plastics, composites and metals
  • Bonding powder-coated metal surfaces
  • Fast assembly of small parts
  • Industrial panel bonding
  • Fixing components in electronic and electrical equipment
  • Fast assembly applications that may replace some mechanical fastening methods

Handling and Use Recommendations

  • Avoid heavy pressure, dropping or cartridge deformation during handling.
  • Before application, make sure the bonding surface is clean, dry and free from dust, oil and loose particles.
  • For painted or coated metals, clean with isopropyl alcohol and lightly abrade the surface if needed.
  • For aluminum or stainless steel, clean with acetone and lightly abrade the surface if needed.
  • For plastics, clean with isopropyl alcohol and lightly abrade the surface if needed.
  • For glass, 3M recommends cleaning the surface and applying a silane adhesion promoter if required.
  • When using Duo-Pak cartridges, use suitable 3M dispensing equipment to obtain accurate metering, mixing and dispensing.
  • After dispensing, assemble the parts within the open time and keep them fixed during curing to prevent movement.
  • Excess uncured adhesive may be cleaned with ketone-type solvents. When using solvents, keep away from ignition sources and follow the solvent supplier’s safety instructions.
